Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Liberty Vape collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can reach us about it. It applies to www.libertyvape.ca and to orders placed through it.

1. What we collect

  • When you order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and the contents of your order.
  • Age and location: the date of birth you enter at the age gate and the province you select. We store the confirmed age and province in a cookie on your device so you are not asked on every visit. We do not store the date of birth itself.
  • When you browse: your IP address, browser and operating system, the pages you view, and similar technical information.
  • If you opt in: your email address for marketing.

We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Card details are entered into a secure field supplied by our payment processor and go directly to them.

2. Consent

When you give us personal information to complete a transaction, verify a payment, place an order, arrange delivery or return a purchase, we take it that you consent to us collecting it and using it for that specific purpose.

If we ask for personal information for a secondary reason, such as marketing, we will either ask for your express consent or give you a clear opportunity to decline.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Email info@libertyvape.ca or write to Liberty Vape, 10104 105 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 1C9.

3. Who we share it with

We share personal information only to the extent needed to run the store and fulfil your order. Our service providers are:

  • Hosting: our site runs on WordPress and WooCommerce, hosted by Kinsta. Your data is stored in Kinsta’s databases behind a firewall.
  • Payments: card payments are processed by Visa Acceptance Solutions (Cybersource). Where Interac e-Transfer is offered, the transfer moves between your bank and ours and we receive only the sender name and amount.
  • Delivery: Canada Post and, for some orders, Purolator, receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver and to verify age at the door.
  • Email: Klaviyo, if you have opted in to marketing.
  • Analytics: aggregate traffic and behaviour reporting through Jetpack/WordPress.com Stats and Microsoft Clarity.
  • Reviews: Judge.me, if you choose to leave a review.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and we encourage you to read them. Some are located outside Canada, or have facilities outside Canada, which means your information may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access requests. Once you leave our site or are redirected to a third-party site, this policy no longer governs.

We may also disclose personal information where we are required to by law, or where you have breached our Terms of Service.

4. Payment security

Payment card data is handled in line with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council. Card details are encrypted in transit and are not stored on our servers. Transaction data is retained only as long as needed to complete and support your purchase.

5. Security

We take reasonable precautions and follow accepted industry practice to make sure your information is not lost, misused, accessed without authorisation, disclosed, altered or destroyed. The site is served over TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to keep the site working and to remember your choices. The main ones are:

  • lv_province – the province you selected, so we show you products that can be shipped to you.
  • lv_age_verified – records that you have confirmed your age, so you are not asked repeatedly.
  • woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_* – keep your cart and checkout session working.
  • wordpress_logged_in_* – only set if you have an account and are signed in.
  • Analytics cookies set by Jetpack/WordPress.com Stats and Microsoft Clarity, used to count visits and understand how pages are used.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones above, the age gate, the province selector and the cart will not work correctly.

7. Age of consent

By using this site you confirm that you are at least the minimum legal age in your province. See our Age Verification Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you believe we hold information about a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Retention

We keep order records for as long as we need them to service the order, handle returns and meet our tax and regulatory obligations. Marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe.

9. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, amend or delete the personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint about how we have handled it. Contact our Privacy Compliance Officer at info@libertyvape.ca or by mail at Liberty Vape, Re: Privacy Compliance Officer, 10104 105 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 1C9.

This policy is written to meet our obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

10. Changes to this policy

We may modify this policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted here. If we make material changes we will say so on this page. If the business is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner so that they can continue to serve you.
